Peter Redman walked out of Tortuga's pub. He'd just had a friendly goodnight from one of the waitresses. He didn't even know her name, but that didn't matter. He walked out cheerily, waving a full bottle of rum around. He hummed his mother's old lullaby and skipped into the alley near the bar. there he leaned against the wall and began his drinking.
Eventually, Pete found himself lying down in the middle of the alley. He couldn't even remember why he was happy. He stood up, clumsily, and walked back to wards the bar door. Just as he was passing, someone came out the door and he ran into them. "Sorry," He said quickly before belching, then fell in front of them from dizziness, hitting his head on the floor. He quickly slipped into unconsciousness.

Elizabeth was thoroughly fed up with pirates. All they did was drink, fight, and belch. And so she found her self strolling out of the Horse's Liver, her hands held firmly over her mouth and noise to keep out the stench. A bar fight had broken out and alcohol was all over the place in there, she just had to get away.
Not even two steps outside the door and boom a man walked right into her. She thought it was another ploy to in someway touch her but then she looked down at the unconcious form at her feet.
"Dear God!" she said, and knelt down on the pavement to examine the man.

Peter awoke to find himself looking up at a beautiful woman. He was a little more sober than before, but still had a dumn look on his face. It really is my lucky night tonight, He thought to himself. " 'ello," He said, slightly slurring his speech. He sat up and looked into her eyes.
"Fur a second I thought I'd gone to heaven, because you do look like an angel," He laughed at his own feeble attempts to be couritous. "Pete," He said holding out his hand.

Elizabeth gagged as the man spoke, the strong scent of alcohol clear in his breath. She rolled her eyes another dirty drunk. Sometimes pirates made her sick. Except of course Will. She looked back at the sad form lying on the pavement. She wasn't sure what to do with the hand he extended up at her. Shake it, she supposed, but to a drunk pirate a handshake from a lady could mean anything.
"Elizabeth," she replied and grasping his hand firmly she pulled him upright. She was really quite strong when she wanted to be.
"What are you doing out on such a fine night, Mr. Peter?" The man disgusted her but she did feel bad for him.

Pete was slightly surprised by her strength. He chuckled, not surprised by her disgust for him. "I guess you don't like pirates much?" He said, backing away as not to scare her. Then he leaned on a pile of beer tankards and ruffled his hair a little.
"Just having a good night before sailing off with the crew," Pete replied to her question, smiling. The handshake meant nothing to him, it was the way he'd been raised. "What is such a beautiful woman as yourself doing out on such a dark night in Tortuga?" He asked, genuinely interested. He looked into her eyes, his blue ones piercing.

"Actually I'm rather a fan of the pirating lifestyle. It's only the drunk ones that I find unpleasant," She said with a half laugh to indicate that she found him rather different than most other drunken pirates.
Her brown eyes stared back at him as he asked what she was doing. "I was staying at an inn above the Horse's Liver, but rowdy drinking songs do not exactly make good lullabies, Mr. Peter."

((OOC: okay, you know what, dookie on it . I'm gonna post here since no one is replying to my thread and since it's the only other topic going now in Tortuga. Is that okay?)) Another set of blue eyes pierced the darkness as a pretty brunette made her way up toward the bar. An annoyed frown had pastured itself to her face, a look that would remind you of a young mother who'd just gotten rid of those older relatives that never seemed to go home after a holiday party. Though that wasn't particularly the case. She'd seriously been slacking where she needed not be, and decided she could definitely make a few hits on the local drunks. They were always the easiest to pick pocket, sometimes all Kailani had to do was just ask for all their money and they'd hand her their wallet without a second thought. It was a little embarrassing to have to sink so low as to rob someone not totally conscious of what was going on around them, but what the heck? She needed the moola pretty bad at the time and didn't really care where she got it. They were pirates after all, and sometimes she wished she could just be a fly on the wall when they were hung over, already feeling bad, and then reach into their pocket to find their money was gone. She almost laughed at the thought, feeling a little bad. But it's not like they'd never stolen a dime in their pillaging lifetimes. But her self conscious scowl quickly fled as her eyes fell on Elizabeth, reconizaion lighting her face, "Oh hey, your Elizabeth Swann aren't you?" She asked in a friendly voice, "Your that girl that's engaged to the guy that helped that captain of the Black Pearl out of Port Royal right?" Yea, Kailani remembered some gossip... or a lot. Whatever. She had heard about this girl somewhere or another, and knew that she was probably the most sophisticated person on this island. Which was a sad thought, but Kailani knew it to be the truth, "Jack right?"

Peter smiled at Elizabeth, in a sincere way. "Yes, but Miss Elizabeth," He stood up strait and took a step forwards. "I would choose rowdy drinking songs above lullabies anyday. Who needs sleep?"
Then Peter noticed Kailani. "Can we 'elp you?" He said, smiling his amazingly clean teeth at her. "You shouldn't go looking for Jack Sparrow," He replied even though he knew she was talking to Elizabeth. "He's bad news," Which Peter knew was true. Everyone who'd crossed paths with Jack Sparrow had had strange things happen to them.

Elizabeth was none too happy about the sudden appearance of a strange girl who seemed to know a bit too much about her. She wasn't at all pleased that the young woman had revealed her full name. True, she liked Peter well enough, but she wasn't sure she could trust him. But at the mention of Jack she couldn't help but reply, "Captain. Captain Jack Sparrow. And for your information I do think rather highly of him even if he can be as drunken as yourself, Peter," she said in her crisp accent.
She narrowed her eyes at the girl, more cautious with her than she had been with Peter. No respectable girl wandered the streets of Tortuga alone at night. For men, it was more common too find at least half-respectable men, but Elizabeth thoguht that she was probably the only woman on the entire isle who was not a prostitute.
"What is your name?"

Kailani turned and narrowed an eye on Peter gamely, "Really?" 'And what would be your definition of 'good news'? Goh', pirates are so arrogant sometimes!.' She thought inwardly, "You don't look too good yourself, one too many doesn't give someone's composure a good look, Buddy." She turned her head swiftly back to Elizabeth with a flick of her hair and smiled, "My name's Kailani," She replied in a friendiy tone.
Her grin faded as she read the other girl's expression. But Kailani didn't truthfully give a crap if she wasn't happy to see her. She hated that look. Just because she was stuck on this cursed island didn't mean she'd given in to it's dirty play. Thief as she was, she liked to think of herself a form of Robin hood, except she was the needy one, "And I'm sorry if I sounded rude. I just couldn't help notice you there. I just....I mean....Do you know anyone decent that might be headed toward Port Royal?" Even though she looked at Elizabeth as she spoke, the question was directed at either of them. But she had much more respect for Elizabeth then Peter at the moment at least and was pretty sure she of all people knew what the word 'decent' might mean.

Peter was shocked at Elizabeth's response to his opinion of Captian Jack Sparrow. He was also shocked by Kailani.
"I was planning to go to Port Royal too. Then I might be able to find my sister, but my crew abandoned me yesterday and I ain't got a boat," Peter was thinking of going back into the bar to take another swig of beer, remembering his dilema.
These women seem to love Jack Sparrow, He thought to himself. Is it his charm? His hat? He was deeply wondering how all of these women liked him so. His pirate-like nature? Then he slumped down to the floor, taking no notice of the women. Maybe I should get myself a hat. Then they might like me more. Then a voice in the back of his head said, Or you could stop being such a drunk and try being more of a gentlemen.

((since Elizabeth isn't posting I'll break the order))
Kailani glanced down at him, "Yea me too..." She muttered in response to his referral of his sister. She wondered briefly why his crew had ditched him and smiled. He was probably passed out or they were just as drunk. And she couldn't help but feel a little bit bad, "Hey, maybe we could go together." She offered, "And if Elizabeth doesn't know of a vessel headed that way, I'm sure we could find somebody that could get us there."
She knew some of the locals, and she always knew that she could easily persuade a group of men to take her there. But the problem with that was obvious. She didn't want to be stuck on a boat for several weeks with a bunch of dishonest dirty pirates who, most importantly, were all men. She wasn't about to get stuck in a situation like that only to find that she was being lied to and told that they weren't really headed for Port Royal, they just wanted a free little prostitute. Kailani was not going to be scammed like several other girls had been. So that was why she was stuck here. But if she wasn't alone and had a friend or two with her then it might be different.
Then she stopped herself. She barely knew this guy, who was to say he wasn't one of the one's she should fear? So on this thought, she raised her brows and added coc.kily, "If you can prove I can trust you."

((Sorry 'bout that. I've had play rehearsals every night))
Elizabeth smiled at Pete, he had gotten seperated from his sister, it was hard being away from family. She knew. Although her father was possesive and annoyin she did miss him.
She hadn't realized till now that she didn't exactly have a way of getting home. Jack had flat out dissappeared, and he was her ride back.
"I don't know how I am getting home to Tortuga, actually. Perhaps we could hitch a ride together?"

Peter stopped leaning on the beer tankards and took another step for wards. Prove it? Peter thought. "Well let's put it this way. I think I'm the most sober pirate on this rock, I have compassion, because I'm going to find my sister and I can read and write, not very well, but I can." He thingyed an eyebrow at Kailani. "If you can't trust me, what pirate can you trust?"He leaned back and smiled.
"I would love for us to travel together, but we will need to find a ride," Pete said. He was thinking that it was his duty now to protect these women from the pirates of whatever crew they sailed with. "If worst comes to worst we could stow away," He suggested, hoping it wouldn't come to that.

"There's only been one pirate that I've ever trusted before." Kailani replied, but left it at that. There was a light hint of pain laced in her voice, but she was quick to cover it and added hastily, "But stowing away won't be necessary. If we can find somebody headed that way I'm sure we won't have any problems with getting them to let us on. But the government's so tight over there since that attack most ships are keeping their distance."
